Shiv Sena is now in direct talks with many rebel MLAs after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray shifted to Matoshree after vacating his CM residence in Mumbai. According to sources, talks are also being held with many through messengers. However, the talks have not reached any conclusion.
A senior Shiv Sena functionary said, “The magnitude of the rebellion is such that there is a serious chance of survival, but we are engaging them and regular talks are taking place.” The Shiv Sena leader said the only hope is that the party feels that many MLAs do not want to go to the polls, so they will have to contest again if they are disqualified for violating the party line. If half the MLAs return, the government can be saved. He told that Shiv Sena rebels are on the rise. He also said that no one could have expected Shinde to do so as he was a trusted figure in the top leadership.
