6 airbags will be mandatory in vehicles with 8 passengers

New Delhi (Agency) : The Center will make it mandatory for car manufacturers to provide at least 6 airbags in motor vehicles carrying 8 passengers. Its aim is to enhance the safety level of the passengers. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari gave this information on Twitter on Friday. The minister has written that his ministry has made it mandatory for the fitment of driver airbags with effect from July 1, 2019 and for fellow passengers from January 1, 2022 to install airbags.
