In this case, an FIR has been registered against the Samajwadi Party (SP) at Gautam Palli police station in the capital Lucknow for violation of model code of conduct and Kovid protocol. This action has been taken after a huge crowd gathered at the program organized at the SP office on Friday afternoon for former BJP ministers Swami Prasad Maurya, Dharam Singh Saini and other MLAs to join the party.

Lucknow District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash said that the virtual rally of the Samajwadi Party took place without prior permission. He said, on receiving the information, the police team was sent to the SP office. Action is being taken on the basis of their report. He said that Section 144 is in force in the state capital.

At the same time, Samajwadi Party’s Uttar Pradesh unit chief Naresh Uttam Patel said that it was a virtual event inside our party office. We didn’t invite anyone, but people came. The SP leader also said that they were following the Kovid protocol. He further said that there is crowd at the doors of BJP ministers and also in the markets, but they only have a problem with us.
