India’s two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu advanced to the knockout rounds of the BWF World Tour Finals badminton tournament after beating Germany’s Yvonne Lee in straight games in her second Group A match on Thursday. Sindhu defeated No. 23 Lee 21-10, 21-13 in 31 minutes. Now defending world champion Sindhu will take on top seed Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand in her final group match.

At the same time, world number 14 Kidambi Srikanth’s hopes of a place in the next stage suffered a setback, losing 18-21 in straight games against three-time junior world champions Kunlavut Vitidasarn of Thailand in their second Group B match in men’s singles. , lost 7-21.
