Sensex took a dive of 1688 points

There was a big fall in the stock markets on Friday and the BSE Sensex fell 1,688 points. Investors’ wealth fell by Rs 4.48 lakh crore in the day’s trade on Friday, tracking a weak global trend.

The domestic market declined with sell-off in global markets amid concerns over new variants of the Kovid-19 virus. The 30-share BSE Sensex closed at 57,107.15, down 1,687.94 points, or 2.87 per cent. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 17,026.45, down 509.80 points, or 2.91 per cent. Shrikant Chauhan, Head of Equity Research, Kotak Securities said that the market declined sharply this week due to rising concerns about the Kovid-19 epidemic.
