Sathiyan enters third round of World Table Tennis Championships

HOUSTON, November 25 (AGENCY)

India’s G Sathiyan beat Russia’s Vladimir Sidorenko 4-0 to reach the third round of the men’s singles World Table Tennis Championships. The Indian ranked 37th in the world beat his 179th-ranked rival 11-9, 11-9, 11-8, 11-6. His next match will be against world No. 17 Nigerian player Aruna Qadri.

India’s top-ranked player and world number 30 Sharath Kamal had lost in the first round on Tuesday. Sharath and Archana beat Algeria’s Sami Kherof and Katia Kesaki 3-0 to make it to the last 32. Sathiyan and Manika Batra got byes in the first round.
