New Delhi, October 21 (Agency)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday heaped praise on Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, saying the state got a government that works with utmost sincerity after many decades under his leadership. He said that this government will be assessed as the best government in the last five decades. Regarding Khattar, the Prime Minister said that he has known him for many years. Khattar’s talent has come to the fore as the Chief Minister, he worked with dedication and innovation in such a way that some models of Haryana’s programs were adopted by the central government.

The PM has publicly praised Khattar at a time when the BJP leadership has decided to remove three chief ministers (2 in Uttarakhand, one in Gujarat) in the recent past. After these steps, there was speculation about the future of Chief Ministers in other party-ruled states. After the Prime Minister praises Khattar, his critics within the party will be silenced and the CM’s morale will be strengthened.

Addressing the inaugural function of Infosys Foundation Vishram Sadan at AIIMS Jhajjar campus, Modi said he worked for many years in Haryana as a BJP leader and closely watched several governments working. “After many decades, Haryana has got a government that thinks day and night about the bright future of the state,” Modi said. Khattar was present at the event, while Modi joined through video conference.
