The Congress said on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government should answer that within 70 days remaining before the end of 2021, after the number of doses given in the country crossed 100 crores. How will all adults in the U.S. be fully vaccinated? Party’s chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala also claimed that people’s wounds are not going to be healed by celebrating and this government cannot escape the responsibility of losing millions of lives due to its corona mismanagement. He also said that the government should constitute a ‘Corona Inquiry Commission’ to probe the negligence of the Narendra Modi government and re-survey the dead and give proper compensation to the families of the victims. The Congress General Secretary told reporters, ‘We express our gratitude to the doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, hospitals. The whole country is grateful to him for 100 crore doses. He claimed, “Prime Minister Modi ji and his government are once again trying to pat themselves on the back by pretending. Modi government should know that celebrating is not going to heal wounds. The time has come to demand accountability for putting the lives of the countrymen at risk due to the incompetence and criminal negligence of the Modi government. He said, ‘When will 74 crore adult Indians of the country be given 106 crore doses? There are 103 crore adults in the country. Of these, 29 crore people have been given both doses of anti-corona vaccines. That is, 42 crore people have been given one dose. This means that there are 32 crore adults who have not been given a single dose till date.
Surjewala said, “The Prime Minister had said that by December 31, 2021, both the doses will be given to all adults. Now 70 days are left. This means that at present 1.51 crore doses should be given daily. But for the last six days, an average of 39 lakh doses were given daily. We want to know how 106 crore doses will be given in 70 days? I did not have beds, at such a time the BJP government had left the countrymen helpless. The vaccination campaign in the country was started on 16 January.
