International cricketer fighting to death, admitted to ICU due to brain tumor

Bangladesh cricketer Moshahraf Hossain Rubel has been admitted to the ICU at a hospital here. He has been fighting brain tumor for a long time. Rubel has played five ODIs for Bangladesh from 2008 to 2016. According to Bangladesh’s Daily Star newspaper report, Rubel’s family sources said that he was brought to the hospital on Wednesday after his health suddenly deteriorated.

The doctors are currently treating him in the ICU. Left arm spinner Rubel has been battling brain tumor since March 2019. The report said that ever since the news of Rubel’s hospitalization came to light, prayers have started for his speedy recovery.

Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza wrote on his Facebook page, ‘My friend Rubel, I pray to Allah for your speedy recovery. You don’t need to return to the field, you just recover and come back to your family. Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board and several domestic teams that Rubel has represented came forward to extend financial support to him.
