Hamirpur (UP), October 13 (Agency)Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said on the second day of ‘Vijay Rath Yatra’ on Wednesday that the people of Bundelkhand will cast so many votes against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that their votes will be bulldozed. Hitting out at the BJP in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, he said the party would never take action against the minister whose son was arrested in the Lakhimpur murder case as the party “stands with the criminals” who are the happiest in the present regime. Yadav, who went on ‘Samajwadi Vijay Rath Yatra’, was addressing the public in Hamirpur for the second day on Tuesday. He said the government had promised to double the income of farmers “but the income has not doubled, inflation has definitely doubled.”
He said that the amount of Samajwadi Pension Yojana given in his government would be tripled if the SP government came to power. Taking a jibe at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Yadav said, “Our Baba Chief Minister likes two things – a bull and a bulldozer. Last time the command of the bulldozer was given in her hands but this time the people of Bundelkhand have decided that she will keep the staring of the bulldozer in her hand and will cast so many votes against the BJP that the bulldozer will run on their votes. It is understood that by bull, Yadav meant the stray animals that are causing damage to farmers’ crops and by bulldozer he meant the state government running a bulldozer on illegal property. Earlier, talking to reporters, Yadav said that BJP will never take action against Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra as BJP stands with criminals. Replying to questions from journalists on Lakhimpur Kheri issue, Akhilesh said that if criminals are happiest anywhere, they are in the time of BJP government and no action has been taken against Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra in this matter. .
Yadav riding a ‘Vijay Rath’ said, “The people of Bundelkhand gave majority to the BJP but they made fun of your majority, betrayed your majority. The BJP gave you dearness, unemployment and made electricity bills expensive. He said that the people of Bundelkhand supported the BJP as much as they could in the last elections. The people here did not allow anyone to win a single seat other than the BJP, but the BJP has made fun of that majority. On the situation in the water-scarce Bundelkhand region, he said, “Mahoba, Hamirpur, Banda and adjoining areas have the highest number of farmers’ suicides and if voted to power, the SP government will provide all facilities including irrigation and mandi to the farmers here. Samajwadi Party’s Vijay Ratha Yatra, which came out from Kanpur countryside, was welcomed from place to place.
