Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav seems to have taken a different path now. Tej Pratap took out Janshakti Yatra in Patna on Monday. In this yatra, Tej Pratap walked barefoot from Gandhi Maidan and reached Charkha Committee, where Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan’s residence is. During this, he said that he would launch a Lalu Prasad movement. He said that the students and the public are my party.
Tej Pratap, who is said to be angry with RJD, reached Gandhi Maidan on the occasion of Jayaprakash Narayan’s birth anniversary on Monday as per his predetermined schedule and went on Janshakti Yatra. Hundreds of workers of his organization Chhatra Janshakti Parishad were with him in this journey. This journey of Tej Pratap ended after reaching JP residence (Charkha Committee). Tej Pratap garlanded JP’s statue here and remembered him. During this he also sat and contemplated for some time.
On this occasion, taking a pledge to follow the path shown by JP, he said that our father (Lalu Prasad) had supported JP in the student movement, the Jail Bharo movement was started. He said that the Lalu Prasad movement would be launched by uniting the students and youth in the same way as he had done the work of running a movement on the issue of education, employment, corruption in Bihar.
When asked about his separation from RJD, he said that the students and the people are my party. However, he also said that whosoever has to say should be told. He further said that I will not do any political talk on this day.
It is noteworthy that in the past, Tej Pratap Yadav had formed his own separate organization Chhatra Janshakti Parishad. After this, senior RJD leader Shivanand Tiwari had raised questions about his stay in RJD. Since then, there have been speculations of rift between Tej Pratap Yadav and brother Tejashwi Yadav.
