The work of applying the third dose of Corona vaccine started in Israel, the first booster shot was given to the President

Israel has started giving the third dose of corona virus vaccine i.e. booster dose to stop the increasing cases of corona virus. The third dose of the vaccine will be given only to citizens above 60 years of age. Israel’s President Isaac Herzog has started this campaign by administering the third dose. Herzog, 60, took a booster dose of Pfizer BioNtech’s Kovid vaccine at Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan, near Tel Aviv.

Speaking on the occasion, the Israeli President said that he is proud to launch the Booster Vaccination Initiative. He also said that the third dose is very important to enable the normal conditions of life as much as possible during this challenging pandemic. Along with the Israeli President, his wife Michal was also given the third dose of the vaccine.

Israeli PM appeals to people to get the vaccine
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett was also present at the event along with the Israeli President. He also urged all people above 60 years of age to get the third dose of corona virus vaccine. The Israeli PM also said that Israel would share all information received from the public vaccination program. Bennett said Israel is the first country to introduce a third dose of the vaccine for people over the age of 60. The fight against the COVID pandemic is a global battle. Solidarity is the only way to defeat COVID.

First country in the world to launch booster shot
It is being told that the booster shot given to people in Israel will also serve as a study for other countries. The rest of the countries including America will also be able to learn from the experiences gained from this. Pfizer’s vaccine has been used in many countries around the world including America and Britain. If the third dose protects people above 60 years of age from infection with the virus, then other countries can also start this initiative.

57 percent of the people in Israel got both the doses
A day before the booster shot program was launched, PM Bennett said that 2000 people in Israel have already been given a third dose. During this time no serious effect of the vaccine was seen on any person. Israel is among the first countries in the world to use the corona vaccine. So far, 57 percent of Israel’s population of 93 lakh people have been given both doses of the vaccine. At the same time, in those above 60 years of age, this figure is 87 percent.
