Politics has now reached its peak regarding the caste census in Bihar. Meanwhile, on Friday, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Tejashwi Yadav met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the issue. Tejashwi met the Chief Minister along with leaders of other parties involved in the Grand Alliance.
Tejashwi Yadav after meeting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that we and the Chief Minister have the same opinion on the issue of caste census. The proposal to conduct caste census unanimously in the assembly has been passed and sent to the central government. Tejashwi said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is going to Delhi on Friday, will return from there and write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 2 regarding this matter.
Tejashwi told reporters that he has proposed to the Chief Minister that an all-party committee should be formed which should meet the Prime Minister and demand it. Tejashwi said that even after this, if the Center is not ready to conduct the caste census, then like Karnataka, the state government itself should conduct a caste-based census.
Tejashwi Yadav said that when I informed the Chief Minister about all these things, he asked to see all the documents of the matter. Nitish Kumar said that he wants to understand the legal aspect and nuances regarding this matter. After that we will take further steps on this.
