Education technology major Byju’s on Wednesday said it has acquired Epic, a digital reading platform for children’s books, for $500 million (about Rs 3,729.8 crore). Byju’s said in a statement that the company will invest an additional $1 billion in North America to advance its vision of helping make learning interesting for students.
According to the statement, this acquisition will help the company strengthen its position in the US. With this acquisition, the company will be able to provide access to Epic’s existing users… over 20 lakh teachers and over 50 million children. Epic CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Suren Markosian and co-founder Kevin Donahue will continue to do their jobs as before. Byju Raveendran, Founder and CEO, Byju’s, said, “Our partnership with Epic will help us create engaging and engaging reading and learning experiences for children globally.”
