On Tuesday, an encounter between militants and security forces took place in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. A police official said that the security forces had launched a search operation by laying siege to Nathipora area of Bommai area on the information of the presence of the terrorists. He said the search operation was transformed into an encounter when militants opened fire on security forces. The forces also retaliated. Kashmir’s Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said in a tweet “A foreign terrorist involved in the murder of two councilors and a policeman has been surrounded in an encounter.” Police said that no casualties were reported so far.
